Install of Sedan V1 Sti Lip on Wagon w/ Pictures

I recently purchased a 02-03 sedan V1 Sti Replica Carbon Fiber Lip for our 03 wagon in hopes that it would fit with some effort.

While having the license plate area shaved we opted to have the lip installed at this time. The work was performed by Vanderpool's in Tucson (only ones that we've trusted with our 1.8t A4, E36 M3, and 02 Nogaro S4 project cars). Other local shops have fallen short of their stated claims and goals.
After speaking with the installer and noting the small changes I feel this install can be accomplished by most people with rather simple hand tools. The most complex tool required (although double sided tape 'may' work here) is a riveting tool.

Along the front lip the factory attached v1 lip brackets were bent over to align to the stock bumper properly. This happens since the wagon bumper does not extend under the car as far as a sedan bumper does. So alignment holes are off a bit.

The side brackets did not require the severe manipulation that the fronts did. In addition to this bracket a single screw through a 'zip clip' secures the sides to the stock bumper.

In the end I would rate the item as a A- for fitment. Almost every aftermarket kit that I've ever seen has gaps similar to this one, but they are kits on the proper bumper. We've bent the rules a bit and applied the cover to a wagon bumper.

The lip looks good (high quality carbon weaving), gets nice comments, and is rather inexpensive. I hope that this info, along with our gallery will help aid others with their installs.
