I could use some advise on what guages to buy...

Hey everybody. I would like to buy some gauges but I am not sure if I should buy the Mechanical or the electrical ones. Which different gauges would you suggest that I buy? I know that I will be purchasing a Boost gauge but am unsure on the rest. My WRX is stock for right now but I plan on moddifying her with larger turbo, I/C, Injectors, and so on. What gauges would you suggest that I buy? I know this sounds really stupid but I could really use some good advice. Also how hard are the gauges to install? Thanks in advance.

get whatever you like. my opinion is that gauges are pretty similar. good brands will all produce great gauges. autometer, omori, etc...

if they function similar, get what you think looks better. honestly.

Blitz makes some cool stuff.

Omori - great look if you get the factory matching ones (80mm boost+EGT, 45mm oil temp, oil press, water temp.)

Defi - Great looking guages too. If you want less clutter of guages, this is the way to go. The setup I'd run is a 60mm Boost Ver. II with their new defi-link display. Defi-Link Display is a multipurpose monitor which provides information on speed, oil temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and exhaust temperature to automobile users. Great looking setup IMO.

Autometer - classic race look guages in a bunch of different styles. They also have the dual guage pod that replaces the factory plastic trim around the guage cluster. BIG rice tachs too

Greddy - Awesome looking guages almost all come electrical I think, backlit in amber and green. Looks way groovy.

Blitz - I wanted these for a while, all of their guage lines are REAL crazy looking at night. AC and BLM series is what id get...

All guages are great quality and all are mostly electrical with a few from some companies being analog. I like electrical since it isolates everything in the engine bay with sending units. As for price however, most of the listed guages are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

http://omori-na.com/ I like these guages too even though they're a little pricey. The real advantage is they'll fit in the stock guage pod and they are top of the line.

Ya know I just clicked the link to double check it and you won't believe what's on that page. It seems Omori feels we are no longer worthy of their products, and by we I mean the entire continent of North America. Go figure.
