I recently shaved the front emblem on the grill, I love do it yourself projects, and I have used other peoples how-to's before, so I thought I would write my own to help other people out
Step 1) Heres how it looks at first with the emblem in place. To get the grill out of the car, open the hood, and use your finger or small screwdriver to un-do all the clips along the top. Then youll need a long, flat scredriver the release 2 clips along the bottom. the grill should come out easily.

When its out, remove the 4 metal clips holding the screen in, and take the screen out. I cut the tabs off the sti emblem to remove that. Next, use a saw, and roughly cut out the emblem, be sure not to scratch the rest of the grill. Then, using a dremel, I smoothed the edges. The top part i left a cutout from where the emblem was, youll never be able to see it. The bottom has to be carefully smoothed, because the plastic gets thin here.

As you can see, i ended up with a few holes, but thats okay, it doesnt need to be that smooth yet, you want it to be a little lower than the rest of the plastic so you can fill it. Next, use some epoxy to fill it in.

After its filled in and smoothed with a credit card, let it dry. Then get out some 220 grit wet/dry sand paper, and start wet sanding it smooth. Be sure to rough up the rest of the plastic a little so the paint sticks. After its smooth, clean it really well with soap and water to remove all grease and dust.

Hit it with some primer, sand, prime, sand, till its smooth. This might take a few cycles. Then when its dry, hit it with a few coats of paint, wet sand it, then one final coat of paint. Pop the screen back in.

Heres the finished grill. On the car, you can never tell there was an emblem there. If you lie on your back, you can see the spot on top. If you want, use the same method to fill the top.
And this is how it looks

What ya think?

Personally, I like the emblem, as it is one of the only (if not the ONLY) exterior trim piece(s) that has remained the same through all generations of the WRX. If I did get the itch to remove mine, I would definitely give you a call. Good job! Nice and clean!
