How do you install JDM non-HID Headlights WRX 03?
Question: How do you install JDM non-HID Headlights for WRX 03?
Is it pretty much all plug-n-play? If I change out the factory bulbs and replace them with aftermarket ones, will it affect (i.e. burn out the wires, cause the housing to fade due to intense heat) the headlghts? Are all JDM headlights RHD pattern?
I bought a pair of the JDM non-HID headlights WRX 03 from Vivid Racing. It didn't take to long considering I'm from Hawaii but it didn't come with any instructions. I just don't want to start cutting and splicing away. I know I have alot of questions but it would help out alot for any answers. Thanks guys!

They are not plug and play. You need to buy or make an adapter harness to avoid cutting the factory wiring (which is not a good idea). Unfortunately the connectors used for the low beam aren't that easy to come by.
All JDM lights are RHD and it is best to modify them before you install them on your car. To do this they must be opened up and the internal deflection plate inside the projectors filed down flat to eliminate the portion of the beam that rises to the left toward oncomng traffic.
For bulbs you should stick with bulbs that are stock wattage (55W) and are not the "superwhite" type with a blue coating. There are some 55W bulbs without the coating that will give improved lighting, such as Osram Silverstars (not the Sylvania ones found in stores), Narva Rangepowers, Philips Hi-visibility.
