How to clean instrument panel

Hi,

I've got an '04 WRX wagon. Couple of months old now, no mods or anything.

My question is, what is the best way to clean the transparent plastic covering the instrument binnacle? My last car was a Toyota Supra, I've had it for nearly 20 years and I used Armor All to clean the instrument panel window, but over time it seems to have lost a bit of transparency.

What do you all suggest? This car is brand new so I don't want to start off on the wrong foot.

Thanks!

David

Just make sure you use a very clean and soft clothe. Armoral cleaner will work fine but you don't want to scratch so the clothe is important. After 20 years (or much less in some cases) clear plastic will cloud up due to a reaction with sunlight.

Whatever you do don't use windex, i used it once and it got all foggy and gross. the solution was to buy a 2 part clear plastic cleaner/polish from meguires, that cleared it right up again. Then i used some 3m clear glaze and that filled in any scratches that were on it.

The stuff also works for headlights with minor scratches. I remember when i used the wrong side of the sponge to wash the outside part of the lens when i did headlight mod, boy was my face red
