HID's

Hey I-Club,

I was wondering, I noticed that the WRX STi has HID's stock. Do you think Impreza WRX buyers can get the HID's as some sort of upgrade or is it exclusively for the STi model?

It's not a factory option, but the parts would fit if you felt like dropping the cash on it.

Do you have any idea what the cost would be on the HID system? My dad has a 2k3 Maxima that uses the D2R system i heard its like 3-4k to replace it if it gets stolen.

You can buy the JDM STi headlights with HID which cost about $2-2.5k, or the EDM and buy an HID kit because I am not sure if the EDm come with factory HID.

Can't you just buy the jdm wrx headlights and throw on aftermarket hid's? will the beam pattern work properly? vividracing.com sells the housing for $600 a pair a believe. An aftermarket HID kit shouldn't cost more than $400.

You can also get Matsu****a HID Kit and JDM complete head lights from Vector N Racing in San Francsico for 1499.00. There number is 650 756 1100.

All you guys have been very helpful, im not the owner of a WRX yet, i hope to be by next spring still in school and thats gonna be my gift to myself... i just wanted an OEM look so thats why i asked if i could get the HID system from the STi, i will talk to my local subaru dealer about it...

JDM is biult for RHD vehicles so the beam patterns are off and will blind oncoming drivers. The EDM's have the correct beam pattern because they are for LHD.

Does anyone know what would be involved with putting STi HIDs into an 04. I'm assuming it would be nearly plug and play. Swap headlight assemblies and wire up the levelers to an STi leveler **** in the cabin.

Anyone know what the parts would cost?
