HID install help.

hey, i have an 04 wrx and i'm trying to install my HIDs. I'm not real good with wires, but i can follow instructions.
basically... my kit is from taiwan. H1 bulbs. My set up was .... (+) of the HID kit goes to the (+) that plugs into the original bulb... (-) just grounds.
It seems like a really easy and simple procedure. I don't know why it's not firing. I even disabled my DRLs for this. lol. any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

your kit seems pretty simple. it should work the way u wired it. since u arent using a relay kit, u might need to change the headlight fuse from 15A to 20A. thats what i had to do with my old hid kit i had directly wired. if your stock headlights still work right now, then it isnt the fuse. if its not the fuse, then maybe try connecting the ground wire to the negative wire going to the headlights.

i placed my ballasts right behind the headlights.

thanks. i'm trying to find some space as we speak. Real tight behind the headlights. I really don't want to "wire" anything. Does the plug to the headlight wiring come out easy? thanks.

you havent unplugged the original wiring harness to test the hids yet? the drivers side is sorta hard to get out cause the battery is right there. the passenger side is a piece of cake. there really isnt that much space. i just doublesided taped my ballasts and mounted them vertically in any space i could find back there. i also ziptied them to keep them from moving around. but its so tite, there is no way they will move.

if the you try grounding the kit the way i suggested, ie to the ground point on the bulb holder, (only do that if the way u mentioned 1st doesnt work), then you will have to change the end connector of the ground wire to something that will fit the h1 style connectors.

thanks beef. So if it's a peice of cake, maybe i'm stupid. hah. i'm going to try it again. Just affraid i might yank it out and break something. The way i mentioned first doesn't work.... so i guess i'm going to reverse the wiring and put the + on the ground. hopefully it plugs directly into the harness.

thanks.
