i want to buy the yakima roof racks for my wagon but my car has the rack delete and i was wondering if i still can attach the roof rack to the car without the stock rack in place..lmk..thanks.

would a sedan rack work with the wagon..

and my car is a 2003

I don't see why the sedan rack wouldn't work with the wagon. Potentially, the c-pillar is a bit thicker (I haven't measured it) but I don't think so. It should work fine.

There are also some UK racks available that mount in to the body trays where your rails were originally. Some friends of mine with STIs have them. IMO, I'm partial to using the attached racks - get the cross bars, some trays and a fairing and off you go. Check pricing between Subaru dealers and yakima too - I saved money buying mine through subaru when I bought the car.
