help me with bumper beam specs?

im looking to buy the jdm bumper beam for an 02-03 wrx but i am just wondering is it actually smaller then the factory usdm bumper beam? how much weight savings will it be? specs of the jdm bumper beam vs the usdm bumper beam would be much appreciated.

it is smaller and lighter

they were all the rage when installing a FMIC because you have to cut less or not at all with some makes

yeah its alot less than the US version

i havent run a front bumper beam since 04

I had one, on my wagon. Right after install (the following day) some **** mashed her brakes in front of me to try to save a squirrels life. I almost rear ended her. I then realized that people are too F'n stupid and I can't control everything. SO I took it off and trimmed the stock beam for my fogs. If I were making a track car I'd put one on. For street nah. You can reduce some major weight on the stocker with a hole saw. Turn the sucker into swiss cheese. Just leave the structure of the beam.

exactly! i have to pay attention alot more i cant be screwing around with a phone or CDs and i have to leave extra space. I also have a BBK so that helped save my front end a few times hehe

Thanks for the insight guys. I plan on running an fmic & I know I'll have to do some hacking to my bumper beam for the fitmsnt issues. It's still a toss up for me.

well some FMIC kits come with a replacement bumper beam

even less crash protection though
