Hey guys, I have just recently purchased a 2006 sti. I bought it from a private seller, and I checked carfax and such... no claims of an accident. I did notice though, that my hood is a little off. Look above the grille, is that gap not huge looking to you guys? Do you think my car was wrecked? Or can this be adjusted?
Also, The hood is not level with the drivers side fender... don't have a picture of that though.

 

try to turn the **** thing under the hood up and adjust your bolts where the hood bolts up to the hinge. and pull it up towards the windshield.

 

I bet there was a CF hood on the car before you bought it, and the original owner did not adjust the hood when he switched it back.

 

looks like the drivers side of the hood was dented in a lil bit, also what xevious said about the CF hood is probably true

 

definate possibility with the CF hood theory... but could it be something else? look at the hood above his headlights!!! if you look it looks like the hood is all the way down!!! the hood is below the fender lines!!! so its all the way down on the sides and bent up in the middle...

Now this is another theory!!! what if he had a CF hood on it and then he had his stock hood sitting down on the floor and the hood warped itself due to heat or something?!?!
is that a possibility and what about if he had the hood standing up with the nose on the floor and it warped itself up?!?!

That car had to have a CF hood on it, sometime you have to really f with it to make it look right.

 

You guys are awesome! thanks for the theories. I can't really get in contact with the seller because he never returns phone calls. I'm not too sure what to do here, but I hope i can figure it out.

laff at irish hahah, contact the dealer and see what they can do for you..if it really cant be fixed and its not a misfit issue then you might have to gett another hood =/, or another cf one - i mean might as well right? hahah

 

unlike most people, i don't like cf hoods.

no hate, just not my thing for the looks! Hopefully I can get this figured out. I think my plan of action is to go to the dealer and see what they can do. Today a buddy and I looked at it more closely, and the outside bolts on my headlights are missing as well... both headlights. Also, the clips that hold the rear bumper cover to the car (in the fender wells) are missing... this is really beginning to really **** me off.

Excuse the nasty bugs and the car being so dirty. I just took a road trip to Chico (4 hr drive) and it got real nasty up there! Hopefully we can get this all figured out...
