What car do you have?
If it's pre-02 your DRL system will be different than ours since our MY01's and earlier didn't have DRLs, so it may be difficult to offer advice unless someone else in Canada can help.
If it's an 02 and the circuits are the same, it's possible the DRL control module has failed or the load resistor under the hood burned out. Could also be a fuse although I'd have to check whether there is a separate fuse for just the DRL.
