man its all good, as long as the spyder doesnt bug you then its not like the windshield is gonna end up in your lap. just take it easy and have fun
Most insurance companies will fill chips before they spider for free. I had it done a ton of times when I lived in Colorado where chipped/cracked windshields are the norm. It costs them less to waive the deducatble and fix the chip than it does to replace the windshield once it cracks, so it's teh win-win.
