Head light conversons
hay ya all this may have bin poasted before if so show me whare I can not seem to find it. Anyway I have 2000 2,5 RS and want to improve the lighting the thing is I have not found a HID setup that I feel will be relyable with a High and a Low beam in the same light. So can ya all help me maby with a headlight converson or any good ideas.
Thanks
Thanks
Without going HID, I say the Morettes - it's expensive, but I think it's worth the money - don't know about the complex lens setup which supposingly give you 80% more light than the regular lens. However, with these you better aim well and get used to the fact that it has less light above the horizontal (ECode lens). Also, hopefully the authorities in your area aren't too picky about inspecting headlights - I know the inner pair is not DOT approved although the outer pair is. Supposingly, even if you replace the headlight assembly, the DOT number must be the same which I don't think it is with the Morettes.
The killer setup which doesn't exist right now is Morette housing with Projector lens for the outer pair plus HID. Short of that, I think there are some H4 kits that are tested well enough to be a bolt on to the normal Morette lens (or stock lens) that doesn't affect the pattern too much.
Here's what I want though - DRL running thru the inner pair, so that I can keep my DRL and upgrade to HID. I don't think there are any projector lens that will fit the GC Morettes housing though.

ok cool now whare do I get morretts looked on the web can only find the ones for WRX newer then my car and could ya just put a HID in the dim slot on the morretts or will that not work. do ya know what the bulb pattern in the morretts is ?

More in here
HID would go to the outer pair which is the main beam (H4 bulbs with the regular lens, and I believe something else for complex lens).
The beauty of the Morettes is that if you tapped it properly, you won't lose your high beam as you have an inner pair.
Basically, the regular lens version uses the same bulb as the stock lens, so if you get an HID kit for it, it will be an H4 kit - up to you whether you want dual beam or not because you don't really need the HID kit high beam as you now have an inner pair to do that.
