We just got these this morning directly from Prodrive U.S. This is the New RB5 Wing that is made specifically for the GD Imprezza's. Here are some pictures.

These are made out of ABS, just like the OEM spoiler. It uses the same holes to mount as the factory WRX Spoiler, it also includes the third brake light molded into the spoiler.

Not only is this spoiler differnt looking, but it's main purpose is functionality. The car is sitting in MIRA's Testing Facility in the U.K. All the prodrive spoilers are wind tunnel tested to check functionality of them. This is the same room where the Prodrive WRC car is tested and aero parts are developed. Not only does this wind tunnel recreate different temprature and wind conditions, but it also features a fully functioning all wheel drive chassis dyno. But that's not all, the dyno will also rotate about 30 degrees. This is where they developed the newest prodrive WRX wing, so they can have replicate a head wind of 70mph, and have the cars wheels spinning at 80mph, and have it so it will replicate conditions of the WRC racing.

Here is the skinny on the tunnel, pretty cool. http://www.mira.co.uk/site/what_testing_facilities7.asp

Thus said you can see that prodrive goes into not only producing high quality products, but they actually test them before sendint them out. This spoiler is very functional, and is supposed to help with decreasing understeer of the veichle.

Let us know what you think, they are almost done and ready for release to the public. As far as pricing goes, not quite sure. We will keep you posted.

i almost spit my gum out when i saw that! i think thats as close as possible to having a 'street' rally wing as you can get without buying the actual WRC unit. STi, eat your heart out!

...the only thing i dont like is the boxy look of where the wing meets the trunklid. would look even nicer if the blade was CF and adjustable.

I understand the functionality and everything, and I'm sure it works great, but I personally think it's hideous.
