guages are way off

i went to start my car yesterday and when the needles sweep the first time, they were really slow and studdered a bit, then i started the car and it said i was going 100mph and the idle was at 3500 rpm, and on the way home the guages were bottomed out except for fuel and temp guages were accurate. i disconnected my batt. and then it went back to normal. what happened and should i take it to the dealer just in case something is going on.

Don't worry about it for now but if it happens again make an appointment with your dealer so he can see the problem before you fix it. This shouldn't be happening.

Please fill out your car 'field' in your member Profile. This way we can see which year and model car you drive when you post technical questions, thanks.
