Gas Guage issue....

Here's the deal.

Driving the other day. Hit a huge pot hole. Tried to avoid it, but couldn't.

At the time I had a full tank of gas. Normally the guage doesn't come off of full until 70 miles or so.

Next morning I went to work I noticed I was at 30 miles since fill up (reset the trip OD everytime I fill up...habit)

And the needle was now at 3/4 full.

So....I peered under the rear. No noticible damage.
Thinking the float is having trauma from the pot hole. So next time I filled up the guage only went to about 1/8th down from full (between full and 3/4 full)

Anyone had this or similar happen? Does it sound like the float in the tank to you too?

Any help appreciated. Dealers are too damn expensive round here.

hell, my gauge goes to "E" and I still have 2.9 gallons. =\

That is odd though, I have hit many, many pot holes on 17" wheels, and even lowered and it still reads the same. =\

The Subaru Fairy seems to has visited me. Back to normal, looks like the float got knocked about. Will keep an eye on it.
