Any one knows a good place to get my Front Winshield replaced in the Monterey area.Mine was broken yesterday, its not that bad but it will need to be replaced sooner or later I guess I should start looking now.

check with your insurance company first, a lot of times glass repairs won't even incur your deductible if you go to their shop.

 

Just for everyones information, Progressive isn't one of these companies. It's either pay the deductable or pay out of pocket, whichever is cheaper.

 

I have $500 dedutible so thats why Iam trying to find a place thats not that expensive.

FWIW here in NY I've gotten my WRX windshield replaced a couple of times for around $300 installed.

 

also, be careful what you do, I took my car to carmax and they wouldnt buy it because the new windshield had a black trim around the edge that covered the VIN and they turned it down.... lame, i didnt want that lame ole protege at the time.

I had a company come out and do it onsite, but they didnt get the seal good, and when going over 4o mph I could hear wind comming thru that spot, almost like a whistle. I made them come back 2 times.

bottom line? - get it done right, and if its minor in a out of the direct view kinda spot wait for a tax return or a winning bingo night to get it replaced.
