I was just curious where i could get some of these things. I have a cheap radar detector on my camry and need one for my WRX. Are they all relative and should i just get a cheap one? How's RadioShack sound? Where can i get a cheap one?
Does ne1 know where i can get a layover kit for a manual '03 Wrx? I may end up gettin the dash and new vents but i really want to change the color of plastic around the window/lock buttons. Any suggestions?
Ok last question. I saw a Escort Passport GTimer in a magazine that computes 0-60, 1/4mile, and horsepower figures buy plugging it into your lighter. I know that Apexi makes sumthing like this but it also connects to your ECU and its more than 150bux. NE1 used one of these cool toys?

As for the radar as with everything else, you get what you pay for...I was able to get a used Bell radar that retail for about $200 for next to nothing, and it works pretty well. Most of the cheaper ones will alert on anything. Keep that in mind when you go out to buy a radar.

The Passport 8500 is, IMHO, the best value.
I'm still using my old Passport 4600, that I've has since '94 or '95...

ok the Escort G-Timer I speak of is not the 8500 and is not a radar detector. Its model is GT1 or GT2. the GT2 stores 10runs and is wireless but 100bux more. Ne1 had experience with these? I've spoken to sum1 about an Apexi time that does the same thing but i havent found it for sale and u must connect it to your ECU. Any feedback would be great! along with anyone that knows of a company that makes layover kits for 03 subaru wrx sedan MT

i have a g tech, its the same thing as the gt1 or gt2. it uses an acceleramoter. (spelling) a little ball inside of a cage that hits different sensors. if you use it on perfect level ground then they can be somewhat accurate. if you are up hill then the ball rolls up the back of the cage and makes you seem like you are going faster, and if you are going downhill then the oppisite. mine mesaures left to right g's, 1/4, 0-60, 60-0 brake. hp/tq and a few other things. it mounts on the windshild. i would not trust if for anyhting but 1/4 mile and even that is not real correct. i would say save your money and go to the track or the dyno and then you would know. thats just my .02. have fun, ryan
