In the 2yrs I had Silverstars in my '04 WRX, the low beam set burned out four times! The last set burned out just as the 1yr customer satisfaction period ran out, so I bought some Hellas from the TireRack instead. They aren't as bright as the Sylvanias, but hopefully they'll last longer. (BTW, my DRL's are deactivated)

I've replaced more burned-out headlamp bulbs in my WRX than I have IN ALL THE OTHER CARS I HAVE EVER DRIVEN COMBINED!

Wow

I thought it was just me. I bought a used 05 with the stocks bulbs and replaced the fog and low beams. I've only been using them since October and have replaced the driverside fog twice; the driver side low beam went dim, I replaced it; passenger low beam went out the next day...replaced it. passenger low beam is now dim again and I don't feel like changing it.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I don't know if it's been said or not. SilverStars have thinner filaments inside them to counter the effect of the tinted bulb. The thinner filament doesn't last nearly as long as a regular bulb, but at the same time increases your light output and provides whiter light. Even though they don't last long, they're still the best bulbs on the market, and the safest, if you want that ricey-fake-Xenon look.
