What's the secret to removing that storage compartment and lid on the top of the dash of the '99 RS?

if I remember correctly, you have to remove a LOT of stuff...

1. remove the e-brake surround because it covers the shifter trim.
2. remove the shifter trim because it covers the center console trim.
3. remove the center console trim because it covers the top vents/compartment.
4. remove the cup holder because it screws into the top vents/compartment.
