Simple question.......what is the little flap for that is between the rearview mirror and sunroof controls?

It is there to allow use of the map lights without having them glare onto the windshield at night !

thatthing sucks it dos nothng buttake up space, it never blocked any sun for me it should just be taken out.

Cohlineman is correct but it also works as a great spot to mount your V1 radar detector.

If you unscrew the flap, break off the little piece of plastic (that would otherwise prevent you from turning it), and turn it 180 degrees, it actually will work as a sun shade. ...a little sun shade
