Changing dash lights to Blue??

Changing dash lights to Blue??
I decided that I wanted all of the interior lights of my 04' Impreza to be blue in order to match an bunch of other stuff I have added to my car.
Simple enough right?
Well getting to all of the bulds was easy, so I got a bunch of little blue buld covers and covered over all of the lights.
Well this kind-a works.
All of the lights are a bluish-teal due to the green lense in the clusted and climate controls.
Not a big deal, BUT now all of the lights a quite dim.
It has to be pretty dark out to see any of the dash lights.
HELP - Any suggestion?????????????????????????
