Anyone has powder coating on the rims?

I have seen many subbies w/ different color oem rims, i guess they have done the powder coating....a new layer over the rim, in this way, it is much more cheaper than changing the rim...even though it is 16, but they look really nice...

I want to know if anyone of you have done this before and where can i find a good autobody shop to do this for me. I would like to see my rim painted in GOLD.

Any comments on this issue?

Don't powder coat them! I looked into it and was told hell no. The temp in which its cures is beyond the heat that the rim can take. It will cause them to lose their strength. In fact, the shop I talked with, said someone who did this hit a curb and their rim exploded on them. Not worth the risk, just go to a paint shop. Its a different method and is safer.
