Annoyin Key Scratches...

Our Subbies dont come with keyless trunk, and you have to manually put the key in to open the trunk. Doesnt bother me too much to stick the key in the trunk, but it sucks wen you miss, and get that annoying key scratch on your paint. Is there anything that can get rid of those marks? Thanks a lot.

I seem to have decent results with a little polish and wax job.

do what I did, wet sand it, buff and polish it. works like a charm.

sigh....im tempted to use one of those color matching things.....i forgot wat they're called, but wen you apply it to your car, it blends the mark to the color of your car. Because the mark is sort of deep, and i think thats the only option other than repainting my whole trunk. I dunno if those things even work?

I've been wondering the same thing. Let us know how it works out if you end up trying this method.

define "cheap way". If he uses a 3m rubbing compound, that's the same stuff a body shop runs, only thing that makes it "cheap" is not paying for the labor.

I love the Turtle Rubbing compound. I just worry about what I'm doing to my clear coat.

As far as I know, a rubbing compound is just a grittier polish.

When I use a rubbing compound, its usually, rubbing compound, then polish, then wax.
