yes that might be, but not only am i hesitant to shell out 600 for jdm headlights, i'm also not advanced enough to throw a headlight unit into my f*ing oven.

now i'm asking politely...

is there anyone in the chicago area that would be willing to do this for me? i'll drive out when convenient and of course pay you...

Yeah - I see what you mean.
The exhaustive step-by-step instructions and numerous illustrations could potentially be difficult to follow.

1. remove headlight
2. remove screws
3. put headlight into preheated oven at 200 degrees for min
4. remove headlight and pry open
5. remove amber pieces
6. use windshield sealant around seal, reattach lens to housing and rebake for 5 min.

7. remove from oven and tighten with screws
8. look for gaps.
9. reattach to car
10. how can this be hard? scary yes, hard no.

take a deep breath and do it. remember not to touch ANYTHING in the lens or the reflective housing!

it is very easy, i have been to a bake session and seen several done. make sure that you bake it long enough for the glue to come out easily. the orange reflectors have clips on the inside. IIRC the bugeye modles are a bit easier to do. but this is an easy mod. i'd like to quote peaty's sig, but that might infringe on some copyright laws haha good luck

dude lissen, you dont need to bake it in the oven!! iv had friends use a HOT GUN, basically its like a hairdryer butt much hotter as its for heating pipes and things like that, you can easily pick one up from ur local hardware place for around 30$, then use that to heas up the rim where the glue of the headlight is, i wouldnt risk putting my lights into the oven aswell....especially after i burned my attempt at a cake last week

I've used the heat gun method on my buddies Accord and it worked perfect. Never tried an oven, but a heat gun makes more sense to me.

I have actually tried both ways, and I think the oven was easier. About the same amount of time, except you don't have to do anything while it's in the oven, where the heat gun requires labor.

Its 6 in one hand and half-dozen in the other. Both will work fine, it's whatever you're most comfortable with.
