Adding Heated Mirrors
I have a 2000 Legacy Sedan GT with power mirrors, but they aren't heated. I would like to install heated mirrors. What's involved? Do I have to buy a whole new mirror assembly, or just a new mirror with a heater element? I know I have to buy the switch. If anyone has some insight on this, I'd appreciate it.

You could probably just buy the heater element. You'll have to dis-assemble the mirrors to place the element behind the mirror(which can be tricky without cracking the mirror), and then run wiring.
I think some BE/BH's had the option for a heated mirrors, so maybe you can find the entire enclosure at the junkyard. Also, there is a spot on your door panel for a heater element switch. If you don't want to use this, you could also just wire them up to your rear defroster button in the center console.
Good luck.

BE = 00-04 legacy sedan
BH = 00-04 legacy wagon
I don't know specifically where you could pick up the heater elements, but they've got to be available on the net someplace. Maybe ask your dealer's parts department too, as I'm sure they go out and people replace them.

search on naosic (think that's right) and on scoobymods.
This has been done before, but looks time consuming.
