02 wrx fender versus 05 fender

I own a 02 Wrx Sedan that I need a new passenger fender for. Im looking at one right now that is painted but it is from an 05 sedan. Does anyone know if these fenders are interchangeable??? Any help would be great!

No, because of the different front end design (headlights, bumper) on the 04-05 vs. the 02-03. You need a fender from an 02 or 03.
It is possible to do a complete front end conversion on an 02/03 to the newer style, but I doubt you'd want to do this for just one fender. You'd need to change both fenders, headlights, bumper, bumper beam etc.

That sucks- I hardly ever see fenders for 02 or 03s for sale that are already painted. Thanks Mulder for the reply

Whether they are painted or not shouldn't depend on year. The fenders, as is the case with all body parts, are only available unpainted from Subaru. You'll only find painted ones used when people part out wrecks or at junkyards. Even then, due to slight differences between paint batches and sun fading, a painted used panel may not match your car exactly. To ensure a proper match it's always best to buy the part unpainted and have a local body shop paint it to match your car.
