rx-8 versus wrx

I just drove one of these mazdas and it is sweet. Rx-8 versus wrx who wins and why? How will these cars compare from a "rolling start"?

and just for fun throw the s2000 in there as well...I can't decide b/w these 3 cars!!

Car Info: 1998 Subaru Legacy L 5-speed
WRX: Turbo, AWD, tons of mods available
RX-8: RWD, N/A torqueless engine, mods not yet available
s2000: RWD, N/A and peaky power curve, supercharging is the only way to get significant gains

Performance wise, my vote would be for the WRX. Regarding looks, I'd take the RX-8 (I like the way they've hidden the back 2 doors).

yes WRX wins, but if u wait, u can get the 2006 rx-7 which will be turbocharged and ready for war. that is something to wait for. ofcourse id still rather have n STi over the rx-7.

can you provide a link for that?

anyways performance wise, bang for buck, the wrx is the big winner. on a road course though, the s2k and the rx-8 are tossable, especially the s2k, very fun to drive and will beat a wrx with equal drivers.

man I didn't know the rx-8 had so many problems. it's a nightmare on wheels. from reading the link above, it has a/c problems, fuel economy problems, heat problems, noise problems, how the hell is mazda expecting to sell these cars?

if there is going to be a new rx-7 that would be killer to the max. still waiting for a new supra though. right now i'd probably take a 350z if i didn't have my rex

the s2000 is a toy!! i can't imagine driving that on a normal basis. super high revs.

i've played along with an rx-8.... 2 guys in it. he whooped me from the rolling start @ around 20. they are sweet. too bad it lacks a turbo.
for the money... i wouldn't do it. save more and get an m3. haha.
