is the brown wire for tach/rpm?
Tachometer Wire Negative Wire (-): Green
Tachometer Wire Negative Wire Location: At ECM, Below Glove Box. The ECM (electronic control module) is located below the glove box, on non-turbo engines, the tach wire is in pin 10 in a 35-pin plug and on the turbo model, the tachometer wire is in a pin 9 of a 24-pin plug. On the STI, the tach wire is in pin 23 of the 34-pin plug.
you can test to see if its the right one by using a multimeter
set it to ac, touch it to wire and you should see the readings go up and down depending on the rpm. if you just have a power probe, the light or beep should graduate down and up depending on the rpm.
