Turbo Hose Mod Question

This may not be the right place for this but I can't figure out anywhere else for it...

I bought a little WRX tuner's guide online and it gave a mod where I can simply unplug a hose from a T-junction of hoses going to either to turbo or intercooler and add 45hp. My question is simply what exactly will happen when I do this, is it worth it and what is the "CEL fix" that needs to be done.

Oh, Also, if I do unplug the hose and later decide I want to plug it back in to go back to normal, will the Check Engine Light turn off by itself since I'm returning the hose back to its original place?

Thanks guys. I appreciate all responses.

more likely u will have CEL .... about adding that much power ..... sounds shady .... and i think u will have to get a obd 2 reader or cobb ap to delete the cel after u plug it back in.

I thought it sounded shady too. 45hp just by unplugging a hose seemed a little silly. But even 10 to 20 isn't too bad. I just don't wanna screw anything up inside. I think I'll stick to my stock I guess. Thanks for the reply.

Please stick to stock.

Ebay tuning manuals are scams.

Yeah it's crap. What they are telling you to do is disconnect the vacuum line from the wastegate. Can you say no boost control. Yeah it will make like 40 hp and then fuel cut as the ECU try's to keep the motor from going pop when it boost spikes at 18.5 psi. If you want HP numbers like that stupid guide said. Look on the home page for the ECU tuning hot link it says everything you need to get those numbers and other than the cable for the ECU it's free.

well, if you try that ebay junk, it may cause you $4k to replace motor easy. so, stock 217HP is already good enought for a little sport car, try some mod other things like exhaust, intake, or racing ECU, and bigger fuel injection system. all these will not hurt your car like those ebay junks.
