Unless you have a built motor or are a pro at ECU tuning, stay away and do not mess with boost (aka take that boost controller out)!
You cannot just "get more boost out of it" without taking into consideration supporting modifications, A/F ratios, timing, compression, turbo efficiency, fuel delivery, etc etc etc etc...If you just start cranking the boost, all you are doing is leaning out your motor (extra air, same fuel amount) which increases combustion temperatures which can lead to stressed motor, misfires, blow turbo, etc etc etc...
The only way to get more boost out of it is upgrade required parts (based on what your goal is) and get a professional dyno/road tune to make sure that additional boost is run safe.

You can't just give your car more boost with some POS boost controller lol. you have to get the right supporting mods then have someone that can tune your car. A pro tuner, not some kid that says that he can tune your car. If you don't do things the right way you will blow your car up!

Difficult question to answer; it all depends what you are looking to get out of your car. The answer will be very different depending if you want a quick auto-x car, rally machine, straight line power monster or just an all around fun daily driver. Many suggestions above are good points, but I strongly suggest thinking hard about what you want to accomplish before spending any time or money on anything. For example, if you get a COBB AccessPort, the ECU tune will be drastically different between a straight line machine (top end power) versus auto-x or daily driver car (low to mid smooth delivery). Check out different forums' technical sections for options available for our cars and n00b mistakes to avoid (ex. BOV, running w/o a tune, CAI). It always sucks when you get something done, just to figure out shortly later that it does not suit your overall direction of your desires (not matter how professionally it was done). Good luck.

well with the cobb, it can be later tuned for different power.. it is not technically only stuck in the middle... its all about the tune...
