I don't really recommend the cheaper the better man, you got to pay to play. There are some cool DIY's out there though.

1st thing I would do is make sure its mechanically healthy. The next thing I would do after knowing its in good running health is suspension mods, like swaybars, endlinks etc.

well it is mechanically in great condition, suspension is stock and still good so ill upgrade/replace as things wear. and by cheap i mean small things like the grounding mod/PVC intake mods, things like that, not necessarily a cheap part

If it's a 93 then you have the 1.8 unless it's been swapped. The only fun thing you can do with that engine is turbo it because putting an intake/exhaust on it is just a waste of money.

Sway bars + end links are the best bang for your buck mod on that car. Do that and go autocrossing while you save up for an engine swap or something, lol. This is coming from someone who has owned ej18 and ej22 Imprezas.

Find an RA roof vent n put it on. Or just fit lights to the undercarriage, that's original. Lol

Clear corners. I'm thinking about doing this on my 99 coupe. No one has a write up for it. Might have to make one...

I have an RS coupe, and my DIY ideas are based on that platform.

If you have fog lights, modifying them to separate them from the headlights is cool, you can run fogs regardless of headlight position and run them as daytime running lights. It's decently well known about, but not many people end up doing it.

Brake ducting would be a fun project, but you might not see benefits if you don't track,

I've made a custom skid plate by cutting and bending a sheet of stainless steel

It'd be fun to make a diff cover in a similar fashion as the skid.

If you have a spiral cell or other sealed battery, relocate it to the trunk.

Also I've been wondering if it'd be possible to use the turn signals in the bumper as parking lights and making the corner lights blinkers. There would be a TON of re-wiring, and you might have to modify your sockets.

Maybe take the bar that goes across the trunk access when you remove your rear seats and stiffen it up to a bigger bar.

Put in full LED lighting inside your car. Bulbs are cheeeap & makes a difference. Put em in your trunk and your hood too(like chevy trucks or bmw's)

All I got for now haha

^^ I agree. Bushings. Being a 93 I'm sure they are pretty soft. Not familiar with your chassis, but they can be a pita. The car will feel so much better though.

Edit: worn out/deteriorated are probably better terms
