If you can do that, that would be really awesome of you. I'm sure it's not too hard but I just want to make sure I don't F*** it up

Good luck on your swap!

yes you should have it tuned.
I was told by mike at GST that its not worth it without a bigger turbo.
but without it being tuned for that additional capacity of the intercooler you could have some drivability issues, ie more lag and possible lean air/fuel ratio

Remove the two lateral bolts holding your oem tmic in place and two hose clamps- one at the top going to the throttle body and the second beneath going to the turbo. Remove the tmic. Replace with the new one. Slip the new hoses over the turbo inlet and throttle body. Tighten hose clamps. Replace bolts. Done. Very easy.

The only difficult part is jimmying in the new tmic, especially if you have a strut bar.

I just did an STI tmic on my 02 Wagon. I also bought the samco hose kit bc I needed the longer hose for to reach the throttle body.

These links were pretty helpful:

Also, I'm in SF a lot, I'd be happy to help you out if you need. If nothing else, I could identify if you need to buy a hose kit to mate your y-pipe to your turbo and throttle body.

lemme know.

Also, got a bunch of DIY's and How-To's at www.scoobymods.com... They have several threads of DIY instructions on TMIC install.. Hope it helps out a bit.
