Best oil for rebuild break-in ??

Hi folks !!! I just had my engine rebuilt. I have an 02 wrx with 2.0 ej20. Question is...what is the best oil for initial break-in? I have heard that I should have an oil without zinc, but an internet search leads me to many, including Lucas Oil & Royal Purple, that have "break-in" oils that have zinc. I'm pretty sure I should have a heavier, non synthetic oil. Also, can anyone give me any info on the break-in procedure, at the shop and also the first 1000 miles of driving? My "mechanic" doesnt appear to posess this knowledge, so I'm going to rely more on you kind folks to get useful info. THANKS !!!

I used Valvoline VR-1 racing oil. It is a non synthetic, and does have zinc. I used a 10-40 to break my motor in... Great oil.

We primarily use Valvoline VR1 for break-in. A decent zync content is important for breaking in new bearings, cams, buckets, etc.

Thanks

We have broken in engines using full synthetic oil with no adverse effects.
The key is zddp and proper break in procedure.
