Anyone know where to get the key cut with 100% success rate??

 

Go to dealer. They sell keys for $25 and you get a free cut.
Mine works perfectly

 

Got mine cut at a Subaru dealer, but that's here in CA. Which doesn't help you much there...

 

Servco Subaru. Yeah I think it's only $25-30 to have the key cut. It may be more if it has a chip and has to be programed,for our Jeep it was an additional $49 to program them and we had to have 3 keys. Don't know why.

 

wait, you have those aftermarket STI key? if you have a 04 wrx the key doesnt have chip yet (i think). so i think you can get it cut at any where does cut keys. i had mine cut in home depo for free...

 

A i-clubber said that Home Depot in Hawaii does not cut keys anymore.

I know Servco Does because thats where she went after getting turned down by Home Depot.

 

Thanks for the reply. I have the key alrdy, im sure i dont have the chip in my current key (04 wrx). Any idea how much it is to get it cut at Servco Subaru and how long? I dont trust some random key shops ... i dont want them to mess up my key ...

 

I got my Sti key cut at city mill and it works fine.

Got mine cut at the key dealers at Great Mall, those stands around the mall.
Cheap for like 8 dollars.

 

I went thru Servco to get my key cut. Only because they'll pull your VIN and cut your key based on the Key Code from the VIN info. With this, you're insured a good, clean cut- whereas, getting a traced cut of your current key (somewhat worn out teeth)..
