Sadly, I need to sell the WRX.

It's totally stock except for the addition of an Optima Red Top battery. Broken-in properly, oil changed at 1000 miles (oil analysis done, results available), and driven moderately since then.

Exterior color: Crystal Gray Metallic

Miles: just over 1700 mi., purchased new in January

Condition: as near to new as you can get, no dings/dents, gently driven, still smells like a new car

I need to sell this car soon...very soon. Will consider any and all offers. I'm hoping to get enough to pay off my loan but realize this probably won't happen. I think book value on an '05 might be a good place to start as a reference point?

Email to scot@hawaii.rr.com or call 223-8988 for more info. Call anytime, 24 hours a day. I can't guarantee I will answer, but if you leave a message, I will call back. I work nights (and can't always answer) so can be hard to get in touch with sometimes.

Thanks!

Hi Shaggadelic,

Thanks for the suggestions. I've attached some pictures.

There is no blue book yet for the '06 TR so I don't know where to start. The Kelley book value on a '05 WRX, private party value, excellent condition, is $21,690. The '05 has a few more features compared to the '06 TR. But then my car is newer, has the 2.5L motor, very low miles, etc. so I guess it might be comparable in value?

Anyway, as I mentioned, I really need to sell this car asap. I can't give it away but I am open and will consider all offers. I'm hoping there's someone out there who's looking for an '06. I hear there are virtually no more new WRXs on the island until September but I don't know how accurate that info is.

Thanks all for looking!

I would say whatever the value of the car was when purchased minus $2K-$4K should give you an idea of the fair market value for a used '06.

Basically, once you put the key in the ignition of a brand new car you lose like $2k at least

So, that first start up is the most expensive sound you've ever heard!

Yeah, agreed...always lose money on a early sale of a new car. Typical price on a new one is about $26,000-26,500, out the door, from what I hear. $26,000 - $4000...I could live with $22k.

No one shopping for a like new car now? I can even set you up if you don't belong to a credit union. Current interest is right about 5% and that helps a lot to keep the payments low.

If anyone sends me a referral and they buy, I'll give you a commission. How 'bout that? I know you guys all want to be car salesman.

I actually prefer the TR version without all the stuff on it. It blends in well with traffic and does not seem to attract cops. The only giveaway is the hood scoop.

according to www.kbb.com
new car book is around 24g's- start there. since all P-subaru dealers on oahu enjoy raping the dinstinct subaru clientele... you have a chance at around there... maybe 2-4g's off a new car blue book value... invoice for a brand new TR is around $23,187...

keep in mind that if any P-subaru dealer had the same car ... rest assured that they would try to sell it at around 24g's making a PHAT profit of the used one.. or coercing someone to pay full markup on a brand new one...

trust shaggadelic and myself... we used to sell subies-

yes those were the days yeh greg when we would sale subys for cheap prices with no mark ups and below msrp. now look at P-subaru. prices are just to high. and for all you lurkers. here's a tip "there is no such thing as it cost 3k to get the car here." it cost about $140 more to get the car here.

Yeah, I hear you guys about some of the dealers...they do not want to deal. I got the car from the Waipahu dealer and got a fair deal. My salesperson was Eric and he was great to work with...I'd recommend him highly. I gotta give you guys credit. Selling cars must be about the hardest job I can think of...frustrating, stressful, you never know how much your paychecks will be, etc.

Yeah, Shagg, I have an ad in the Honolulu Advertiser. Tried changing the ad about 10 times, lowered price, etc. I went with a package deal they said it would be in the Advertiser and also the Buy and Sell. Turns out it's only an insert they throw in the Buy and Sell, it's just the Advertiser's Car section from the regular paper. I didn't elect to have the ad in the military papers 'cause I figured the military people would read the Advertiser, too. Maybe I am wrong about that...don't know.

I really hate to have to sell the car. Just drove it today and it's really sweet. It hurts to keep looking at it every day just sitting there, so I'm almost ready to see if one of the dealers won't sell it on consignment just to get it out of my driveway. I know that's probably the worst way to get rid of it but if I don't get it out of here soon, it will be more painful when the time comes.

Thanks, Shagg, I sent him a PM.

Anyone else interested? Time is running out for me so gotta sell soon! Looking for only $21,500 which is LESS than the KBB value for an 05 model, not this 06!
