sorry I didn't answer your PM.

is the squeeking come from the peddle itself or is it coming from the tranmission?

it might be the spring that is squeeky or the sleeve thing that goes inbetween the connecting pieces for the peddle set might not be lubbed or smashed

try lubing the peddle connection and spring and check see if it goes away

^^ no. 04 wrx. i met him for the 1st time today. cool guy. drove his car around kaneohe (while @ work ) everything seems fine. only thing i suspect(which i told him to take it in if he wants confirmation) is that maybe the synchros might be worn. there was an incident where it was downshifted from 5th to 2nd at 50+mph(an honest mistake, not him driving) among other driving issues.

when entering 1st gear (if too quickly) will "grind". kind of like how keirnas old WRX used to do. as far as upshifting it was smooth as butter, nothing wrong. dowshifting was fine. there were "noises" that he was not "used" to hearing- that seem to be characteristic of all subies w/5 spd. MT (of all the new/used ones i've driven- all the same whine from tranny)

as far as the clutch goes. my car does it, my wifes car does it. i think jon hit it right on the nose.... i have yet to "check" my spring

oh, and aaron- just for peace of mind.... i should have checked your tranny fluid... maybe you should check... just to make sure...

well, after hearing of your problems, i'd say that i'd have to agree with gregggg on this one and you might want to change out your tranny fluid and diff. fluid as well. the "whine" that you hear is the gears, but also the turbo spooling, did you think of that?? well my whine is pretty damn loud (turbo spool noise) when i get on the throttle, and i would'nt worry much about it. the rest of your problems have the sound of subaru written on it, maybe you should take it in for piece of mind.
