I was gonna wait to post this, but I can't sleep.... It's only now that am I realizing what just occurred. Not to long ago, around 4:15a.m. I was heading town bound from the windward side over the Pali Highway.

About 1/4 mile before I reach the Wyllie St exit, there was a early model, Dark Maroon, Jeep Cherokee traveling up the Pali. I really only started to notice the SUV when I saw an arm stick out holding something. Next thing I know, I heard a loud "BANG" and something whizzing by my window, Then another loud "BANG" followed by the same noise whizzing by even closer. I was doing 35mph, because I knew cops love to set speed traps on the pali, but after hearing what I believe were gunshots, I switch lanes and floored it fearing they would make a u turn.

I looked in the rear view mirror, and notice another car 100 yards behind me swerving because I guess the same SUV took shots at it too. I took the Wyllie St exit and the car behind me passed and continued down the Pali booking it full speed. I pulled over at the Ma'ema'e elementary parking lot and called 911 to report what just happen. I pray the other car behind me dodge what ever was fired at us, and that I don't read about someone being shot on the news later today....

 

Damn thats scary!! I had a situation like this in oregon and my first time driving on the freeway from oregon to the bay area in cali. My husband and i were driving through oakland and it was pouring down rain. A car was entering the freeway and came up to my passenger side of our suburban and my husband says just look straight ahead just as he said that i saw the guys in the car next to me with all their windows down about 5 or 6 black guys in hoodies staring us down next thing i know the guy in the back pulls out a sawed off shotgun and aims it at our suv. I just slammed on the brakes. They keep going but soon slam on their brakes. I then speed up pretty fast and notice the other side of the freeway there were cops and also cars spread out on the freeway. Soon as they saw the lights from the cops they took the next exit. I hope the cars on the other side didnt get shot by them but it appears to have been the case. Needless to say i was hella stressed out after that and not a very warm welcome to california for me

As in my case glad you got away without getting hurt. Don't know what makes people do these things.. there are a lot of crazy people in this world.

Years ago when i was about 16 my parents were driving down the freeway heading to eastern oregon and we were so lucky my mom was bending over cus someone shot at our car and if she wasnt bending over would have hit her in the chest or her head. That was a very freaky day and they didnt know where the shots were taken from because it was open land along the side of the freeway. No cars were on the road at the time so it had to have come from the miles of empty land.

Dave, glad you're unharmed. I was shot at years ago in waikiki on the one way ala wai canal in rush hour traffic! 2 damn black dudes decided they didn't like the way we looked at them, and took 6 shots at us. Long story, but we escaped, and later the story got twisted and the cops came after us.
Hope you catch those *****.

Holy Smokes Dave, I'm so glad your safe and out of harms way or else I wont have a buyer for my rear bumper Hope the other driver escaped unscathed too!! But on a side note, by any chance did you see the hotflash from the gun when the shots were fired?? How did the law enforcement respond back? Very true this is a f'ed up world. Also Yesterday, the stabbing &death of an possible innocent bystander/educator at the Ewa Shopping Center!! Our Condolensces to the Yama$hita Family!! Wow, the last name Yama****a is censored!! LOL

 

I can't believe that people are actually doing this kind of crap here in Hawaii. Thank God you're okay Dave! That's totally messed up what happened to you. Hopefully these guys are found and taken into custody. Otherwise, they'll just end up doing it again and the next person might not be as lucky as you. To actually hear the bullets whizzing by...Damn!!! That's some freaky sh**!

 

Man, Dave, thank God you're OK. That's just insane, hope those a-holes get busted soon.

I didn't see a hot flash, I just heard a "Bang" and a strange "wizzing" noice pass the window. The part that sort of **** me off was not even the fact I might have got shot it, it's that the 911 operator did really believe me about what just happened, i had to repeat myself 3 times. And at one point the operator said "soooooo", I'm like WTF?! In the end I just said in a pissed off voice, " I just wanna report what just fricken happened OK?? Just incase someone else crosses paths with those ****** idiots pop'n shots...." he finally responed back "Ok sir, thank you for the info, will be sending a unit to your area..." I just said "you have my number, if you need me and I live in Nuuanu" and just hung up...Seriously, did they think it was a prank call or something?

 

Did the cops actually come out and take down your story?

That's ****ed up...happy you're ok.

This is why I am slowly building up my arsenal. Too many dumb ****s running around being asshats.

 

the "whizzing"is unconfirmed.... depending on the gun fired, it would determine whether or not you would hear the "whizzing" go by.. most guns, you cant hear a bullet fly past... but what do i know???
