Who remembers the car movie named The Wraith? It seems that the car in the movie was an actual car made by Dodge. The Dodge PPG Interceptor also know offically by it's Dodge name, the M4S, is a car that was built in the early 80's. 1984 to exact is the model year. It had very little in common with anything produced by Dodge in those times. It was NOT just a Daytona with a different body. The only thing the M4S shared with the Daytonas of the day was the 2.2 liter engine block and the 5 speed manual transmission. On top the block was a highly modified Cosworth 16 valve twin cam head. It was force fed with twin Garret T-25 turbochargers and fueled with Bosch- L Jettronic fuel injection. It made 440 hp and had a top speed as tested by Road and Track to 194.8 mph. It did 0 to 60 in 4.1 and the 1/4 mile at 12.9 at 104 mph.

Honestly to me it looks a little like the Acura NSX a generation or so back. Still it was a kick azz little car. To bad it really didnt stay in production.

 

I remember that movie, I even had a small poster of the car on my wall back then.

 

I remember that car and the movie. I was (and still am) a big Mopar fan.

 

I use to love that movie as kid even with the corny acting. as for the car i remember it being like the countach or ferrari just one of those cars you can just dream about as a kid

Yeah, cool movie...

I always remember the Wraith's exhaust note...and you know what...someone finally came out with a close reporduction...the G35 and 350Z's stock exhaust note is very similar to the Wraith's car...the person who worked on the note for the Nissans must have been a Wraith fan!

Watch the movie...then listen to a G35 or 350Z...you'll see what I mean.
