would anyone be interested in...
2002 WRX EJ20? high mileage but well taken care of.
timing belt, water pump, oil pump cam sprocket and other maintenance done on it already... just seeing if anyone is interested. might have minor problems that can be taken care of before putting it in a new home

Jon I am interested in it but I wouldn't be able to pick it up till I get back from Iraq. what would you be asking for it?

not sure entirely. i know that the engine is not perfect but i'm sure after you come back form iraq you could take care of that. i'm in the middle of a deal right now and will need a buyer for this engine.
what do you think is fair. the engine has about 80k on it. no transmission though. i will also have a manual wrx harness, ecu and possibly accessport since i don't think the accessport that i currently have will work with the ECU that i'll have

honestly Jon I am lousy at throwing numbers out I tend to offend people unintentionally. so if you could set me a ballpark and we can work from there. also will the engine be complete? ie turbo, intercooler, alternator, ac.....etc...if you have a moment please list all that will be available with the motor and pm it to me. you mentioned also it was not perfect, could you elaborate a little more? thanks

i'm thinking 1k. yes the engine will be complete less a a couple of brackets. there might be a valve cover gasket and a few seals that need to be changed but i've done all the hard stuff already. the engine is from automatic but i have added the timing belt guide for manual cars. there are no wrx manual timing belt guides on the outside covers but i do have the manual covers if you wanna change it you'll just need to be the rest of the guides (inexpensive and needless so i didnt' change them) all tensioners and pulleys were changed with new types cam shaft sprocket was changed. ATM the coolant tank is missing a bolt securing it since the threads back out but i'm sure you can figure out something. other than that everything fine.
you will receive stock intercooler (probably with samco hoses), stock turbo, injectors. you will NOT receive the stock intake box since i need that. the idle air control valve was service already so you shouldn't have to worry about that. the worse will be the gaskets need to be changed. there is a catless pde uppipe on it new gaskets were changed.
I'll have to see what will an what won't be included for the little thing since i'm not sure what will be included for me. there will be AC compressor and alternator...etc. the engine in general will be complete.
Jon
if you need a tranny i know someone that has one. as long as i have everything that i need for my install you will get everything you need.

1K is very tempting..of course you know this will be going into my GC. Currently the car is automatic and I still have to source all the parts out for the MT. Granted I was to pick up the motor from you I would probably end up rebuilding the motor from top to bottom. My only real concern is to know that the block and head is still in good condition. I know you use to race alot but at the same time I know you took care of your car, 80k for a 5 year old car is not that high in my book.
Once you have completed your swap let me know. So we can work something out. Thanks Jon!

not sure.. I cannot vouch for the condition of the tranny though since the car was i a wreck. There is NOTHING wrong with an automatic WRX
he does have the peddle set for the WRX (you will need this) and I can supply you with the harness if all goes well for me. you'll need a ABS compressor (manual, but if your game I have an auto one you can try that fits but not sure whats the differences is) and you should be in good shape since. The wiring will be additional cost but will include the manual ECU i'm lookin to get 600 for the wiring. You'll also need the clutch master which I believe he has.
I'm not sure how much he is selling this stuff for. The person you wanna contact for this stuff is allenssn715. PM me if you need his number.
man, i should be getting a finders fee from him
if your reading this harry.
Thanks,
Jon

you'll also need the front and rear axles, driveshaft, differential from a manual since the final drive is different. it would be great if you could use an auto one since i ahve all that stuff waiting. i also have axles and stuff from my auto but it doesn't fit for so i think it doesn't

Jon I am actually 50/50 on the auto to MT swap on one hand my wife will be driving the car and on the other MT is the way to go. And yes I know there is NOTHING wrong with a AT, Mr. Pioneer of the automatic!
If I did go the auto route (for now) I would probably stick to what I already have in the GC. your motor should bolt right up to it, right? and then all i need to do is the change out the wiring and ecu if i am not mistaken.

^^^Jon the unfortunate side is I just received conformation recently that my unit has been extended till about late september to early october (was supposed to be home in July) I dont how much of an inconvenience it would be for you to hold on to it that long but let me know what you would suggest. I'll tell you what though if you are willing to hold it for me I am willing to pay you half up front to show you my seriousness. let me know

ah. we've known each other for several years. I'm fine with holding it for you the problem is where am I going to be keeping this. it won't be to much of an inconvenience but it would be great if it were not just sitting you know? The extension sucks ***** and I that you're safe while there. It takes ***** to go to a place like that. Something I'll never be able to do.
I need to know your final plans though so I can start clearing out my closet.

Jon lets do it 1K sounds good for all the stuff you mentioned above. For now I will go the AT route till I can find a suitable 5 or 6 speed to drop in. Now for the hard part. I live in a town house so space for me is limited, unfortunately the way it is looking the motor will have to sit around till I get back. If you have the space and are willing to store it for me, I know I can entrust you to make the necessary arrangements to ensure it doesnt sit around and rust. In the event you dont have the space I will do what I can here to find a suitable place to store the motor there in Hawaii. If not then I would just have to pass up on another great deal. Well let me what you think.
