Maybe running some sort of coilpack like an RS or using some sort of aftermarket dealy.

Where's the cooling system, the front just looks like is has some sort of filler cap on a bumper beam. The IC location doesn't look like it'd be too effecient either.

It think it's a wrx engine not an sti engine. Looks like there's no avcs from the looks of the cam cover, and the manifold looks painted. Not that it's not powerful enough, I'm sure that thing has some ballls!

There were non-avcs STi's.

The turbo and headers aren't oem, neither. There's no need for power steering and I guess he's utilizing some sort of trick cooling. He's got the intake routed under the intake manifold and it looks like the compressor is routed directly into the intake manifold so that the tmic is useless.

I do like the blue header/up. Ah yes it is an earlier model STI engine from the 90s, he does state that. Interesting read on how he built the clutch and gear shift.
