Question Who's got a RS*R turboback exhaust?

So I picked up an RS*R turboback exhaust/ Cobb Accessport from Vakamon(Thanks Ryan!!!) a couple of weeks ago, and don't get me wrong I love it, the boxer makes it roar, and my butt dyno tells me I got more than a few hp by adding it on, but got just one question, do any of you who have this turboback or any turboback that has eliminated all the cats from your exhaust system experience a lot of exhaust smoke? I mean a lot, I'll look in the rearview and see the cars behind my gagging from all the smoke. Is this normal, or is my car messed up? Could a lot of the smoke be because the exhaust is still really new? Oh and btw the smoke is kinda light grey not exactly white.

Thanks in advance for the help hommies!

Smokes white/ light grey, and just had my oil changed by the dealership. It smokes only when I'm at a stop for a minute or so, but under load hardly any smoke.

some other threads to check out,

https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...ite+smoke+idle

found them doing a search...

some say that smoke is normal when catless??? but i dunno about that. im catless and have never seen smoke and was told by a friend drving behind me that i had no smoke. i have two friends with rexes that have some smoke tho, one during shifts(stock bov) and when rpms go down from high revs, and the other guy had it at idle but i never saw it again... none of these were really bad where it would be like a smoke screen or any thing. the only thing i had was water at cold start but i think thats normal..

Why don't you call Ryan and ask him what's up?

He's a very helpful guy.

too much oil? head gasket?

i've seen this happen with a new porsche on the open track (and also had Alot of white smoke) who also jus happened to have his oil changed by his dealership... but met the guy thru a friend and never found out why it was...

i hope it's minor... good luck (and nice turbo-back)

Condensation in the pipe...

Several things come to mind...

1. Condensation in the pipes turning to steam coming out the back...White smoke...

2. Black smoke...if you are running a bov and during the split second that it blows off...it runs rich...puffing out smoke...

I've seen both of these occurences before.

Hey thanks for the help guys!

Spoke with Ryan at Vakamon, he knows his stuff, he was telling me thast the AP is probobly running the car very rich because it's safer than lean, and that if it was a head gasket or failed seal in the turbo, it would be smoking all the time.

Peace Out Hommies!
