Dave's old STI was returned to the dealer....why?...I don't know. I met the dude that had bought it. He came into Speedgear to get a copy of the manual for the Greedy boost controller. I am curious to find out why he returned the STI, but since has not come into Speedgear.

the guy returned it b/c he obviously didn't know what he bought.

I would love to buy Dave's old Sti (can't though, no $$ , plus it's blue! ), ... it was taken care of, plus it's got THOUSANDS of $$$$ worth of aftermarket parts (quality ****!). Good luck finding ANY used Subaru for sale here with as much time and money put into it.

I thought they were selling it for right around $30k?? That's a Steal! Especially considering blue book is still at MSRP or more!

my 2 cents
Sean

Very good points, NoLimit. Danalo...the car was raced at one autocross. At that point, it was already broken in, so you don't have to be concerned about it. I would have bought Dave's car before I picked up my STi, but I wasn't a fan of the blue.

^^^^^^

I agree with NoLimit & Ditch... i even asked the wife if i could trade in my car and pick it up, but no dice. I think the 1st guy bought it for 29, but returned it cuz he couldn't deal with the CEL ? Who's upgraded engines Don't throw a cel (as long as it isn't flashing ) ? And for 29 and what's in it, i think it's a good deal. Dave did treat the car nicely and bought good stuff.

I test drove it today and checked it out. The stereo system looked pretty nuts. Anyone know who did the install, what subs are in the trunk, what kind of speakers in the doors?

I'm considering picking it up, but I'm working on an M3.

Let me know if it works

BUWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA...truthfully, the dealer doesnt care if it was raced or not...BMW has their own national car club -BMWCCA (car club of america) which has it's own racing program...it has it's own set of classes, rules, championships and everything...it's very prominent on the mainland, and doesnt have a following here...the dealership here also helps to sponsor the local bmw trackday where owners go and flog their cars at a 2 day driving school, using HRP's full course...

also, they wouldnt say anything when i'd take my car into servicing with the scca tech sticker still on the window...even when it was for warranty issues...

but i guess it wouldnt hurt to try...

It'll work, not with the racing part...just look up that car's "history". People who are active on this forum know what I mean. ^^

You mean about the damage from it getting hit in the rear? Yeah, I saw that too yesterday. I couldn't see the images though, guess they were kinda old.

The car is in awesome shape, even after the accident. The repair shop did a fantastic job. I talked to one of the guys at SCCA a couple of weekends a go and he mentioned the car. He said they would consider going lower if I knew anyone that wanted it, but he didn't specify at what price. I guess a friend of his is a salesman/ manager there.
