Wow Greg. Looks nice. That's one of the few perks I can see if I get my UPT slot for the Air Force (being able to get a nice and relatively big house on the mainland for small Mililani-type house prices). Seriously, you have not made a bad decision. You may be a 1/4 mil. in debt, but it's debt that provides equity and will help you in the long run.
I would definately wait until after buying your house to get another car. That's one of the biggest problems I have in getting "another car" (the high payments will look bad when I go for a mortgage loan). However, unline you, I'm not quite married and I don't have a family to support.

Congrats Greg! I know it was probably tongue-in-cheek, but a mortgage is not debt. Pretty much the only way you can get upside down in a home loan is if your property value goes down drastically.
I test drove the S60R and was impressed.
AWD, turbo with very little lag, brembos, adjustable suspension, great interior and a slick shifter -->
The local dealer wouldn't budge on the 4K mark-up though
, and the rear legroom was surprisingly small. IIRC, it's basically front wheel drive and the AWD only kicks in at the launch.
The XT isn't as sexy, but is does have more room and is faster in a straight line. It's also an Impreza chasis, so you know it won't take much tweaking to make the XT hang in the twisties. You could certainly do much worse than having a WRX and an XT in your Colorado garage.

Actually what you mean is that his Net worth has remained the same. A mortgage is accounted for as a liability and therefore is a debt which must be repaid. However, since the real property Greg purchased is also an asset he has to account for that as well. So, long story short, he increased his assets and his debts equally, thus his net worth has not changed. This of course assumes he purchased the property at fair market value.
