Who wants to try to tilt their IC?

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5363

I'm willing to give it a shot...gonna pick up some IC hoses from 04Sleeper so will have to take the IC out anyways...might as well give it a go.

I think a splitter would do just about the same thing. If you don't have a splitter might as well give it a try. Reversible mods are cool

just do the splitter it's a more gaurenteed mod. i might have one for sale soon.

regarding the mod... it's a very bad idea though a good one for someone not wanting to spend money on a part that actually works already but wants to try to make something that works similar but not as good.

here is my reasoning behind this.

the TMIC brackets weren't meant to be "shimmed" if you will in the way that the mod specifies. adding spacers will put additinal stress on the brackets causing them to possibly (i say this again... POSSIBLY) crack causing more problems for you in the long run. also since you're TMIC will be tilted it can also put stress on the throttle body area and hoses causing premature tearing, rubbing, damage to them where there shouldn't be. Also as the mod states you'll have to physically see if the hood has clearance for the TMIC and the hoodscoop.

just some thoughts.

hehe.. kinda paranoid about the short section of hose between the throttle body and intercooler, maybe cause some leaks?

Did it last week. Don't know if i gained any power but i'm pretty sure I didn't lose any. Only got about 2/3rds of an inch with stock hood.

update: Raised the IC to 1 inch and removed the rubber and metal pieces under the scoop for clearance. Trimmed about 1/4 inch off the hose between IC and TB. Trimming 1/4 in. off the top and tapering down to zero on the bottom to help the IC tilt easier. Well I guess i'll run it like this for a while. The initial impression is its much cooler +1 for Scoobymods.
