Whilamena Rise kicked my car's azz!

So I go over to my sister's house to drop my mom off for NY day and my clutch said,.."uh,..I dont think so" as I try to go up her driveway with me, my mom and my sister. It just slipped and I had to rev to get her going,..I wasnt going to burn it out so I neutral reverse parked it on the road.....

First time this ever happened going up an incline and I wonder if I broke a clutch spring about 2 minutes earlier as when I had to do a U-Turn to find her street.
I heard a loud "Ping" doing a U turn down a sloping intersection there....But when I drove home it was without any drama and was able to get up my own 30 deg driveway as usual. Just wonder if going up those roads had anything to do with it as I was bogging going up in 2nd gear when a car was on its way down.....Anyways,..gotta look into sourcing for some parts just in case down the road as lgt members says the DP clutch sucks anyways w bad syncros for some,...

They like the SPEC light flywheel and SPEC Clutch,..although you can use 06 WRX Clutch and ACT Flywheel for better daily driving,..

I dunno about those steep inclines, but which clutch are you using? I'm pretty sure you'd need to revv it up quite good if you have a LW flywheel or pulley and such.
Kevin, please review that spec clutch combo when you get some miles on it.

Im with OEM right now,..called Subaru if they would do the labor if I go with aftermarket items if they are to warranty the oem clutch I got now with 22k miles. I figure upgrade now instead of oem stuff..

Looking at getting a SPEC Stage II+ clutch and their SPEC LW Flywheel.

Sounds good. I was gonna get the spec clutch too, but there weren't too many reviews at the time on them. I went exedy instead.

I like it a lot now. The exedy stg1 organic is supposed to be OEM in our cars.

Dude if you are not beating on your car everyday you are really going to have to try and break things. There is almost no way you broke a spring on your clutch. Especially not doing a U-turn. Give it some gas the next time you have your family in the car.

True dat,... but as I have learned,..you never know,...

I broke the oem rear caliper bolt breaking in my Hawk HPS pads,...I heard a "SNAP",...when I took off my driver rear wheel, I notice teh caliper a little crooked and the bolt had broken off,...

Clutch slippage is a little shocking at 22k,..but I got Stage II and my FMIC,...I dont drive w/ my clutch in and slipping all over the place but witha load a people in my car going up a hill is a test of my clutch. LGT forum and members say the oem clutch is crap and some have changed them pretty early too,..

I avoid stops from an incline like the plague...hate doing those and if any of you remember I used to live at the top of Ward so I would always figure out a better way around that crazy incline rather than go to it.

There's actually several roads there that help you bypass that stoplight.
