If you mod your car, don't count on your warranty.
This is with every make/model.

also, heres a good example on what im talking about. my current ride is dropped, and the dealer gave me no problems what so ever about it. when i went to 3 of the subaru dealers here, i asked about suspension and they said that it will automatically void the warranty.

i know some one here has it (that statement that says they can only void your warrenty for the part that that has been modified ie upgraded turbo no engine warrenty) do a search under warrenty man and you'll find a whole lotta stuff about warrenty.
enjoy. remember if your gonna mod your car you better read up about it before you do anything or your just heading for disater. happy moding

From what I understand the law states that the dealer has the burden of proof to prove that the modifications you made caused the problem. Aftermarket parts are allowed by law unless the dealer provides the replacement part free of charge.(I like that one)
I.E. So a suspension modification shouldn't void the warranty if your engine blows up, unless they can show the connection. But if you install a boost controller and your engine blows up...you're screwed.
That also doesn't mean they can't deny you warranty service until you take them to civil court.
Check out www.sema.org. They explain the whole grievance process and the necessary steps to take in such an event.

The Subaru Service places here are not dicks when it comes to warranty work. They are following rules just like any other manufacturer/ dealership. Ask IS2Scooby...he was a service mgr. at Lexus. I think the only reason why they get bad press here is for the situations that have come up on this board (modified cars being brought in for service work).
Generally, they like us and they will try to help us out, but it takes only one retard (like a certain kid who busted his tranny once while drag racing, had it warrantied and then proceeded to bring it back again for warranty work again after he busted it a second time).
We are (mostly) all adults here. Suck it up. If you modify your engine and something goes wrong, that's technically not the dealer's problem. If they help you out, great for you, but remember: in a small community as this is, be careful not to ruffle too many feathers regarding warranty work (these are just my opinions, so no one should take offense and start something).

I've been very fortunate in that my car is pretty modified but I haven't had any problems bringing it in for warranty work. The dealer has actually been very helpful in that regard.
I also agree with Ditch. If you do plan to mod your car, you should be prepared to take responsilbility for whatever happens.
