Waikiki Fireworks
Waikiki Fireworks
Ok, once again I screwed up the camera settings. Out of about 300 pics only about 10 showed up even halfway decent, but just a peek at what came out.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM are my usual ones I shoot with.I used the 24-70mm for the fireworks. Have a couple others, but for macro and then surfing shots.
The fireworks were taken from the worst location possible outside my house. Right on the road so I get headlight glare and we have a ton of streetlights there as well. Also have to shoot through power lines. Just never plan ahead enough to go somewhere else. I use a lens hood and try and hide in the shadow of the light pole, but especially with all the smoke the glare was bad. Oh well. Something to do I guess.
dave have you tired comparing your "L" lens to non "L"? and for small prints is there a visible difference? on photo forums people always say it is better but it seems like only when you enlarge prints it makes makes a significant difference. i ran a bunch of rolls comparing my kits lens to the consumer lens on 4x6 prints and 85% of the time i can barely see a difference the difference is the some details are alittle soft but i have to sit and really compare details. and when i use my 50mm prime i can't see much compared to the consumer.
thanks
