Let me lay this on you guys for food for thought. I read somewhere that he was looking into getting rid of RECON because he felt that hawaii has a good inspection system inplace already. So it would lead me to beleive that he is on the side of the car enthusiast. (spl) Now if he finds out what this means and that everyone at these car shows have been punking him for soo long, guess what will happens to the car guys since you just ****ed over the Mayor ....

linda lingle also said she was going to get rid of recon...sure they can say that just to get on our good side...recon has been around for how long already and it does nothing but bring positive income to the state...there is no justification or reason to get rid of it...i am willing to put money down that recon will stay regardless if duke gets elected or not...and doing the shocker is nothing to be tripping about...it's not like we scammed him into doing it...and our intentions weren't to "punk" him...i do it all the time with my friends...supra man has been doing it for how long and it's spreading like a wildfire...and what's wrong with recon? i passed...i got legal tint, allignment, 2inch rebound, and a loud @ss exhaust i have no problem...

 

Damn recon was what made me decide to go sleeper!

So you really think that if he found out what it really meant, he would still be doing it regardless of the political implications? You are telling me that he wasnt "scammed" into doing it, but I have not heard anyone INTENTIONALLY telling him what it is prior to him taking the picture. Is this what you are telling me? What if by chance he was actually thinking that he was trying to connect with the youth, but instead was in fact being "punked". I have known about and have been doing the shocker for awhile also. So what?

I am happy that your car is legal and that you passed recon, I applaud that. But you need to understand that there are others that disagree with the recon program and have been fighting to have something done, cleaned up, updated or at the minimum, have someone in office that "will look into it" even if there is a slim shimmer of hope that something will be done. This is bigger than you care to understand. Regardless if he gets into office or not, something like this would set back what some of the auto community have been fighting for, for a long time. This is the point I have been trying to make all along. Thats all. Nothing political, just my opinion. Have a nice day.

 

I think that if he found out what it technically meant he wouldn‘t do it anymore....i don't think he'll hold a grudge against the entire car enthusiast community and stride to keep recon going...and if you were actually there when he did the shocker with supra man, you would've known that he never asked what it formally meant...he just did what supra man did...so you really think our primary intentions were to punk him?? myself, supra man and all our close circle of friends always do the shocker wherever, whenever, to whoever and we're use to it....maybe he was trying to connect with the youth...he got supra man's vote, he got mines and about 7 of our friends votes also...so he'd succeeded then...so we're not into the whole political scene but at least we look at Banium we can say "yeah! Banium is the man, he‘s cool"....so i guess what you're saying is that just because we took a picture of Banium doing the shocker would "set back what some of the auto community have been fighting for, for a long time"? Let’s be realistic for a second here…not everyone’s bothered by insignificant things like that...I’ve personally delivered to his residence several times and he’s a really cool person and not as uptight as seen on television….. I honestly think that he’ll just laugh it off and move on.....which is why we see him as a cool guy...

Recon is an issue that may not be significant in your world, it is your world. I really dont care. True there are those out there that think the issue is insignificant. I really dont care either way, seriously. But there is a big community out there that opposed recon or at the least want it cleaned up. Its not your bag, so I will not go into specifics or try to explain somthing you have no intrest in or an open veiw too. I for one am not a big supporter of Recon but this is my view, and not ONCE did I push the issue on you, or will try and push the issue with you, I was just stating the facts.

The whole point to all of this is that I was trying to open the views of people by trying to make they think before they started saying stuff like "send the pics to mufi" or "send pics to the advertiser". Hey, I will be the first to admit that I laughed and thought it was cool of Banium was doing the shocker. Im just trying to have you see the otherside of it. Even you would have to be smart enough to know that with the smear tactics used in politcs, if he was elected, what kind of damage it could do to him as unintentional as it is/was. I will agree with you, I have met him a couple of times, and he is indeed cool, and I too voted for him. Plus his wife is hot.

Well, do what you want, think what you want, but im done trying to make poeple "think out of the box" and help broaden peoples views. Reread what I wrote with an open mind and I hope you will try to understand what I was trying to say and the point I was trying to make. If not, its cool, the world turns. Im going to SEMA.....
