Which make/model camcorder do you have?
Media? Digital Tape? Mini DVD? Hard-Drive?
Most likely, your file will be in mpeg format when you download it on your computer...there are many editors to choose from (lots of free ones to). Your first step though is to get the video from your camera to the PC.
Usually, old school camcorders have RCA plugs/S-Video...if so, you will have to go somewhere like CompUSA and buy a converter...
Hopefully, you have a newer camcorder and have either a high speed USB or Firewire interface...
If it is USB, you computer most likely has a USB port that you can connect to. The PC end will have the typical wide USB interface while the interface on the camera will be a trapezoidal smaller shape...Once connected and your camcorder is on, you computer will most likely detect it....and if you previously installed the software...will probably launch that as well.
If it is firewire...you will have to buy a firewire PCI card unless you have a mac or a multi-media specific pc like Vaio's etc...
Most camcorders come with some type of watered down editing software...Windows XP has a built in editor for free...I know this is all cram session stuff, but it should give you a starting point to go from.

YOu should be able to use either the Windows Movie Maker, or the software that came with your computer. If not then you will have to buy a program. Or if you got a couple of dollars, I can see if I can get you an avid dv express older version with the crack.

INTERWIN DVD CREATER
Check your cd burner to see if it has the capability to download your movies.
You can even get the PSP video 8 or 9 to put it to a different format.
